The Perfect Fall Counterpiece

fallcenterpiece_38If you’re like me, and don’t have a really big family to celebrate Thanksgiving with, it can be tough deciding what to do, so this Thanksgiving I wanted to prepare a simple, romantic table for two. I wanted to stay away from the traditional orangey tones typically used for Thanksgiving place setting, and instead give it an earthy, yet delicate look with some neutral colors. If you’re a last minute planner like me, this can be a super easy DIY you can do yourself!

First, I arranged the centerpiece with some delicate baby’s breath, snapdragons and a few kinds of eucalyptus. For the table runner, I went to the nearest craft store and bought two sheet of paper decorated with gold marble swirls, very similar to the my dining room table.  I taped those along the center.

Then I bought a couple of apples, pears, persimmons and squash to scatter around the centerpiece (it was SO hard not to eat them while decorating).

Just in time, I received a holiday candle set from Jo Malone. It was a perfect addition to the table setting. It smelled like Thanksgiving and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Then I set up the plates and busted out my gold plated silverware, before tying each of the napkins with eucalyptus that I had saved from the centerpiece.

Lastly, on small tags I purchased from the craft store, I wrote quotes that were related to Thanksgiving and what I felt this holiday should be all about.

Overall everything came together really well, and I loved the more natural and clean look for my table on Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and are able to spend it with the people who mean the most to you!
